Summer of Firsts

Atley and Carson had been practicing this spring to ride their bikes without training wheels and were getting rather frustrated. Our good friends who also have a 5 year old boy told us about this trick, they put their little guy back on the little small 10 inch bike that the kids first ride without the training wheels and they can feel their balance and that they won't fall. That night they brought over his old small bike for the kids to ride and low and behold off they went without training wheels on this little small bike.

It took about 10 minutes and they wanted to go back to their large bikes and they took off. We even rode as a family to the park that night, all without training wheels. The kids were soooo proud! It is so cute that they both figured it out on the same day, that makes me smile.




Sawyer had another first this summer, his first ice cream cone. Now before you think, what kind of parents don't give their 2 year old any ice cream. We do give him ice cream, we just never did in a cone :) The mess didn't appeal to me. We made a stop by the local DQ for lunch and for dessert I ordered little man his first cone. He didn't like it much, just the ice cream, and definitely not the cone. He was pretty proud holding such a big kid treat, I think that is what he was the most proud of :)
