In 7 days my hubby and I will be leaving for our Hawaii vow renewal/vacation. I can't believe that it is finally here, we are so excited, nervous and apprehensive about leaving the kids. This trip has been planned for over a year, and it culminates in a few short days.
We will be gone from January 25th and will arrive home Monday morning February 2nd. The whole flight from Minneapolis to Honolulu, is 8.5 hours. I am not really sure how that is going to go, the longest I have flown is 3.5 hours. We are bringing a laptop with movies, books and magazines.
The kids will be taken care of in our home from their Grammy, auntie Larah and grandma. We are very blessed to know that our kids will be in loving hands, and in their home while we are gone.
I am doing a few things to make the absence a little easier, I am making a paper chain that will have little clues for a treasure hunt each day. The clue will lead to a dollar store prize, which will be a little something to look forward to. The paper chain will have as many links as the days we will be gone, so they will have a visual reminder of how many days are left until we are home.
Dan and I will be staying in Maui, and doing some site seeing, relaxing, and traveling to Pearl Harbour in Honolulu. We will renew our vows on Friday, January 30th, to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary in April. I am wearing a simple silk creme gown, and Dan will wear white linen pants and a white Hawaiian shirt. We will have video and professional photos to capture the event.
I will post some photos once we return of the trip, please add our family to your prayers. That we all stay healthy, that the kids do well without their parents for that many days, that we have safe travels and that all who care for our kiddos have energy and strength to deal with our active kids.
Ma halo (Thank you in Hawaiian)
