Last Thursday, at 9:23 p.m. our new niece was born, and I became an auntie!! It was a long day, as my sister was in labor from 6:30 a.m. until 9:23 p.m. I was very honored to share in little Addisons birth, as I was in the delivery room. She had a very long, hard labor, all while no drugs, my sister is a nurse, and really wanted a drug free delivery. She was stuck at 8 1/2 cm dialted for over 5 hours, and she finally agreed to the epidural, hoping it would cause her to relax and finish dialating. They could not get the epidural and tried for over an hour, Jesse said, "Just ---- it" and continued with no pain control.
Finally 3 hours later, an actual anethesiologist came and took 45 minutes to administer the epidural. She got some relief but still really did not completely dialate. Her doctor was great, he let her push past the cervix not being completely dialated and 3 pushes later, little Miss Addison was here. 8 lbs 8 oz and 19.6 inches long.
She came out crying and exercising her pretty voice, she has lots of dark hair and the most adorable chubby cheeks. Atley is so over the moon with having a new girl in the family.
I am so in love with my new niece, and we are so thankful for another great blessing added to our lives.
